Maybe you’re experiencing persistent pain that feels overwhelming. Maybe you’re trapped in victum mentality, and tell yourself that nothing is ever easy for you. The stories we tell ourselves, the illusions of the monkey mind, so many things need to be shattered before we experience freedom. Perhaps this is why change is SO difficult. I believe 100% that the truth will set you free, but before that, as David Foster Wallace describes in his famous quote, it will break you first 😫. Freedom from our monkey mind, freedom from our physical aches and pains, freedom heartbreak, from difficult life experiences….

I deeply wish for all humans to live a life that feels free. I discovered that freedom is the driving force behind the work I do both professionally and personally. ‘The truth will set you free, but not until it’s finished with you’īrutal truth bomb right there 💣 #thanksdavidfosterwallaceįreedom is one of my top 3 values and at a recent yoga immersion I discovered just how much my soul craves freedom. This quote about truth deeply resonates … Ever since I was in high school I surrounded myself with quotes to inspire me. While it sounds like a beautiful thing to live your truth, (and it is) it certainly isn’t easy!! In fact living my truth has seriously kicked my arse recently!! WOW! It felt beautiful to be seen in such a way, and it got me thinking You’d have to have personally been trapped and felt flames to really understand a terror way beyond falling.Over the weekend I heard someone describe me as And yet nobody down on the sidewalk, looking up and yelling ‘Don’t!’ and ‘Hang on!’, can understand the jump. It’s not desiring the fall it’s terror of the flames. The variable here is the other terror, the fire’s flames: when the flames get close enough, falling to death becomes the slightly less terrible of two terrors.

Their terror of falling from a great height is still just as great as it would be for you or me standing speculatively at the same window just checking out the view i.e. Make no mistake about people who leap from burning windows. The person in whom Its invisible agony reaches a certain unendurable level will kill herself the same way a trapped person will eventually jump from the window of a burning high-rise. And surely not because death seems suddenly appealing. The so-called ‘psychotically depressed’ person who tries to kill herself doesn’t do so out of quote ‘hopelessness’ or any abstract conviction that life’s assets and debits do not square.
